Francophone Settlement Services

Settlement services

Immigrating to Canada brings many challenges. It is important to learn about the procedures and the various immigration programs available in Canada and Ontario before settling in Thunder Bay. The Etablissement.org site, available in both French and English, is a good starting point for your research. Once in Northwestern Ontario, you'll be looking for information on what you can do to settle in and start your new life in Thunder Bay.

Thunder Bay Multicultural Association (TBMA)

All settlement and resettlement services in the region are offered through TBMA.  Settlement and support officers facilitate the integration of newcomers, promote multiculturalism and help eliminate racism through a full range of services. The association provides information and referral services to help newcomers, immigrants and refugees when they arrive in the region. Services are available in French by appointment.

Le Réseau du Nord

The Réseau de soutien à l’immigration francophone du Nord de l’Ontario creates links between organizations across Northern Ontario to facilitate the reception and integration of Francophone newcomers.
